I Died for Beauty, a song cycle

I Died for Beauty, a song cycle

Instrumentation: Baritone, Vibraphone and Piano

Duration: 12 min

Text by: Emily Dickinson

“I Died For Beauty” was purely inspired by the beauty of these selected poems of Emily Dickenson, her irresistible haunting words has found their ways to the haunting nature of the composer’s music. Composed in 2004, this haunting illustration of dying, death and being dead, scored for baritone and piano, calls for the third unusual choice of instrument: vibraphone, seldom associated with the poet, however, adds to mysterious flavor.
